- After signing up with your mail and number through OTP on https://www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in/, register yourself for yatra tickets.
- If you are travelling in a group, you need to enter your group ID to book tickets. For maximum 6 passengers, you can book minimum 2 tickets per user. You can also book for a group of maximum 12 passengers on 2 tickets with single user ID. If there are more than 12 pilgrims, you need to sign up with other user ID on Heli yatra IRCTC website.
Hotel Booking for Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham Yatra
- It is very important to note that hotels are not very lavish as these sites are located in high-altitude mountainous region. Extreme weather conditions also make the maintenance of hotels costly.
- The Dhams are also open for 6 months and it’s closed for 6 months in winter. The limited opening time period also makes it financially expensive to run lavish hotels. The focus of the pilgrims is also only on getting darshan.
- Moreover, to maintain cultural and spiritual heritage, government has posed restrictions on commercialization of infrastructures on large scale. This helps to promote sustainable tourism.
