On Tuesday nearly 1298 pilgrims visited the shrine of Kedarnath in Garhwal Himalayas. By the time pilgrims reached Badrinath shrine, the number of pilgrims reached up to 2400 and they all participated in the prayer ceremony held at Badrinath shrine. From then onwards, a rapid rise could be witnessed in the number of pilgrims. Until 12 noon of Tuesday about 333 ponies with 1163 pilgrims departed from Sonprayag towards Kedarnath. On the other hand about 266 were on their way back after successfully completing the ‘darshan’ of Kedarnath Shrine. Each day there’s a remarkable increase in the number of Kedarnath dham pilgrims. On Tuesday alone, a huge group of pilgrims consisting of 1298 members successfully completed their Kedarnath darshan all through the day, seeking the blessings of Bholenath Ji. Since the time that the doors of Kedarnath shrine were thrown open for pilgrims, nearly 24148 devotees have completed their Kedarnath darshan quite successfully. Taking the help of helicopter service nearly 8000 pilgrims have reached the shrine till now to have a darshan of Kedarnath Ji. The earnings that Kedar Mandir has made during this time has also reached up to nearly 40 lacs and 41 thousands.
At the same time, the pilgrimage to Badrinath dham too is picking up pace. Until now nearly 43000 and more pilgrims from India and abroad have already reached the Badrinath Shrine. Due to the clear weather on Tuesday, pilgrims showed up on their way to the shrine right from early morning. All through the day nearly 2400 pilgrims visited the shrine and participated in the prayer ceremony. Pilgrims also took a holy dip in the very sacred Tapt Kund. After completing the darshan of Shri Badri Vishal, more than 500 pilgrims also made an excursion to the Mana Village, the last village on the Indo-China border. There they bathed in the holy Saraswati River and also visited sites like Ganesh Cave, Vyas Cave, Vasudhara, Bhim pul. Furthermore in the Brahma Kapal pilgrimage of Badrinath dham yatris also performed rites and offered oblation for the peace of the souls of their ancestors.
