Uttarakhand Heavy Rainfall: CM Dhami Urges Vigilance and Ongoing Rescue Efforts.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an urgent review meeting at the State Emergency Operation Centre on Thursday morning to evaluate the ongoing rescue and relief efforts in areas severely impacted by heavy rainfall. During the meeting, CM Dhami highlighted that rescue teams have been active throughout the night, working tirelessly to relocate residents to safety due to the severe weather conditions. "We have received reports of significant disruptions in many areas across the state. Rescue teams have been engaged continuously to move people to safer locations," he stated.


The Chief Minister assured that he is in constant contact with local authorities and has instructed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams to remain vigilant in the affected regions. "I have directed officials to support those impacted by the heavy rainfall and to ensure the relocation of individuals at risk from rising rivers and drains. Everyone has been advised to stay alert," Dhami said.


He also noted that relief and rescue operations are underway in critically affected areas such as Rambada, Bhimbal, and Jakhaniyali. CM Dhami remains updated on the situation through ongoing discussions with local administration and public representatives, who have been tasked with assessing the damage and implementing immediate responses. The Chief Minister stressed that the safety of residents, as well as pilgrims and tourists, is the highest priority. Our entire team is working swiftly to address the situation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Uttarakhand for the next five days.In light of these warnings, the Uttarakhand government has issued a safety advisory for Chardham Yatra pilgrims, urging them to postpone their travels until the weather improves and to stay in secure locations.
