Chardham yatra Update: Devotees breathe sigh of relief as rainfall in Badri-Kedar brings relief from the heat

Uttarakhand is struggling these days. Even in the hilly districts, the heat of the sun has made people miserable. The rain in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham on Thursday afternoon has made the weather pleasant. People standing in long queues in the Dhams waited for their turn with umbrellas and wearing raincoats. The rain has also given relief to people from the heat.

The mood of weather had changed at Shri Badrinath Dham since Thursday morning. After some time the sun came out, it became cloudy. Light rain started from 10:30 am. Then the rain stopped at noon. After this, it started raining again at 3:00 pm. While the heavy showers provided relief from the heat to the people, the pilgrims standing in line for darshan waited for their turn wearing umbrellas and raincoats. After the rain, snow was seen on the high peaks behind the Dham. However, there has been no snowfall in the Dham premises as of now. The temperature has dropped due to the rain.

There were clouds in Shri Kedarnath since Thursday morning. In the afternoon, moderate rain started in Shri Kedarnath Dham as well. Snow was also seen on the high hills of Kedarnath Dham. Pilgrims appeared very excited due to snowfall on the hills. Despite the rain, devotees kept standing in line to have darshan of Baba Kedar. Taking photographs or making reels is prohibited in the Dham premises, but people were seen taking photographs and making videos with snowy peaks at a distance of 50 meters.

Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Media In-charge Dr. Harish Gaur told from Badrinath Dham that pilgrims continue to arrive with enthusiasm in both the Dhams amidst the rain. Darshan is going on normally in Shri Badrinath Temple and Shri Kedarnath Temple.
