Police caught 15 pilgrims making reels and videos with their mobile phones in Badrinath Dham. They confiscated the mobile phones of all these pilgrims. After about eight hours, they issued challans of Rs. 500 each and returned the mobile phones.

Making reels and videos in the Badrinath Dham temple premises on Wednesday proved costly for 15 people. The police issued challan to all of them and confiscated their mobiles for eight hours. The state government has banned making reels and videography within a radius of 50 meters in the temple premises of all the four Dhams.

On Wednesday, police caught 15 pilgrims while making reels and videos from mobile in Badrinath temple complex. Police confiscated mobile phones of all of them. Kotwal Navneet Bhandari said, those making reels in the temple premises included travelers from Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh as well as other regions.

He said, if the situation does not improve, a case will also be registered against those making reels and videos. DGP Abhinav Kumar held a meeting with police officers regarding the Chardham Yatra at the police headquarters. He said, only devotees who come for darshan should be allowed to go within 50 meters of the temple premises.

He also said, action should be taken against people making unnecessary reels and social media content in the temple premises. A gate system should be prepared for the movement of vehicles on the travel route, so that there is no crowd beyond the capacity. Said, the holding area marked for passengers should be inspected. Where the devotees have been stopped, the duration of the stoppage and the time of opening of the road should be decided and information about the same should be given to the passengers.

Said, the movement time of mules plying in Kedarnath and Yamunotri Dham should also be determined. During this, construction of sheds on Kedarnath and Yamunotri Yatra route was discussed. He directed that action should be taken against the devotees, travel agencies and drivers traveling without registration by checking at different places on the Yatra route.
