Chardham Advisory: Pilgrims coming without registration will be sent home, Chief Secretary says

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi sent advisory to the Chief Secretaries of all the states. In this she has clarified that if pilgrims from any state come without registration then they will be stopped after checking.

Pilgrims coming for Chardham Yatra without registration will be sent back. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has issued an advisory to the Chief Secretaries of all states in this regard. Due to the huge crowd gathered for Chardham Yatra, the government is facing difficulties in making arrangements. So far, the registration figure for Chardham Yatra has crossed 31 lakh.

In view of the huge crowd at Char Dham, the government has started strict compliance of registration. In this context, on 22nd May, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi sent an advisory to the Chief Secretaries of all the states. In this he has clarified that if pilgrims from any state come without registration then they will be stopped after checking. Such pilgrims will be returned.

She has also requested that whoever wants to come on Chardham Yatra, should come on the same date given in the registration. This will make it easier for the state government to manage the Chardham Yatra. She has also asked all tour operators and travel agents to ensure that they check registration before starting the journey. So that they do not face problems later. She has requested the states to make all the pilgrims aware about this.

Over 31 lakh registrations

So far 31 lakh 18 thousand 926 registrations have been done for Chardham Yatra. There have been 10 lakh 37 thousand 700 registrations for Kedarnath, 9 lakh 55 thousand 858 for Badrinath, 5 lakh 54 thousand 656 for Gangotri and 4 lakh 86 thousand 285 for Yamunotri. At the same time, so far 84 thousand 427 registrations have been done for the Yatra to Hemkund Sahib.
