Chardham Yatra: Preparations to take help of Artificial Intelligence, brainstorming on creating an authority for travel management

Brainstorming has started on creating an authority for the management and operation of Chardham Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions in this regard and sought a report from Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, discussions have started regarding permanent arrangements for the management and operation of not only the Chardham Yatra but other yatras taking place in the state.

The Additional Chief Secretary held a meeting with officials of Tourism, Endowment, Police and Information departments in his office room. In the meeting, the arrangements for the yatras being conducted in the state and the challenges, difficulties and problems faced during it were discussed.

It was considered in the meeting that it is necessary to create a permanent mechanism to conduct safe, smooth and orderly travel. The possibility of creating an authority for this was considered. Additional Chief Secretary said that the help of information technology, data analysis and artificial intelligence can be taken to conduct the Yatra in a systematic manner.

Instructions for preparing questionnaire

Through data analysis it can be estimated how many devotees will come and on which dates more crowd can gather. Based on these estimates the government and administration can make their preparations.

He asked the officers present in the meeting for a report on points related to their respective departments. Also, he instructed Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey to prepare a questionnaire to obtain information. These questionnaires will be sent to the departments related to the travel arrangements and to the district magistrates.

The ACS said that this was the first meeting, so an attempt was made to understand the arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra. A few days later, another meeting will be held in which the District Magistrates will also be connected through virtual medium.
