The administration made temporary registration arrangements to allow about 12 thousand pilgrims who were stopped in Rishikesh to visit the Dhams when offline registration was closed. According to the transit camp administration, only six thousand passengers could be provisionally registered against 12 thousand. Out of the remaining six thousand, about four thousand pilgrims have returned without darshan. About two and a half thousand pilgrims are still staying in the transit camp premises and Dharamshalas.
800 passengers will take the Dhruv pledge.
The administration has decided to keep offline registration closed till May 31. Out of the passengers staying in the transit camp, about 800 passengers have pledged to stay here till the offline registration starts. 16,953 trip cards made in Rishikesh
Green cards started being made in Rishikesh ARTO office from April 4. Till May 20, around 23,063 green cards and trip cards for 16,923 vehicles have been made from here. So far, 1,52,963 pilgrims have gone from Rishikesh to visit Dhams in these vehicles. According to the Transport Department, 11,520 vehicles have left. The department has issued challans to 1,400 vehicles and seized 20 vehicles for violating traffic rules.
The temporary registration system has also been discontinued. High level monitoring is being done to see what can be done better.
