Chardham Yatra 2024: Mandatory Registration Checks for All Passengers Announced in Latest Meeting Decisions

Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey held a meeting regarding Chardham Yatra. During this time it came to light that offline passengers were traveling before their given date. Instructions have been given to investigate this.
Now the registration of all the pilgrims coming on Chardham Yatra will be checked. If vehicles registered at a later date are caught traveling earlier, the permit will be cancelled. Strict action will also be taken.
So far 11 pilgrims who came during the yatra have died. Apart from the yatra districts, holding points will also be made in Pauri and Tehri. Passengers everywhere will be stopped for a few hours, so that there is no jam-like situation in the journey.
A letter is being sent to all the states for mandatory registration before coming for the yatra. Those without registration and post-registration will be stopped on the Yatra route. Meetings will be held with tour operators only. Those without registration will be given strict instructions not to travel.
