There is significant excitement among tourists for the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra. As of now, 450 passengers have registered and paid the fees for this pilgrimage.

Yatra Itinerary

The pilgrimage begins on May 13th, starting from Kathgodam in Haldwani. On this morning, pilgrims will depart for Pithoragarh and arrive there by evening. The following day, they will travel from Pithoragarh to Dharchula, and on May 15th, they will reach Gunji. The journey continues as pilgrims visit Nabhidhang Om Parvat on May 16th and Adi Kailash on May 17th. Subsequently, on May 19th, travelers will explore the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave and then proceed to Bhimtal. The journey concludes on May 20th, as passengers return home from Bhimtal.

The pilgrimage features a warm welcome in Pithoragarh with Baransh juice and accommodations in clean guest houses operated by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam.

It is noteworthy that the number of pilgrims increased after the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Adi Kailash last year.

Geographical and Cultural Significance

The revered peaks of Adi Kailash and Om Parvat, located on the India-China border in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, are of great religious significance to devotees of Lord Shiva. The area has seen an increase in travelers compared to the previous year. The region is renowned for its lush, beautiful valleys and picturesque villages such as Gunji, Kuti, and Nabhi.

Accommodation Details

Tourists enjoy comfortable stays in homestays throughout the villages along the journey. The Yatra starts from either Kathgodam or Pantnagar airport, passing through Pithoragarh and Dharchula before reaching Gunji, from where paths diverge towards Adi Kailash and Om Parvat.
