There are several mutts dedicated to Sree Guru Raghavendra Swamy in Chennai. One such mutt is located in the Perambur area. The address of the mutt is No. 15, Srinivasan Street, Perambur, Chennai – 600 011.
Several years ago, this mutt was donated by a couple belonging to the Smartha Brahmin community. They donated a major portion of their house to build the mutt, keeping only a small portion for their own residence.

Every year, Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana is celebrated at this mutt in a grand manner. Free food is offered to all the devotees who visit the temple. Generally, I offer food grains as a donation to the mutt on the occasion of every Aradhana. Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana falls towards the end of August each year.
Devotees from the Perambur area visit during the Aradhana festival. The temple is beautifully decorated with flowers, and various poojas are performed in honor of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. Every month, during Pournami (Full Moon), a Satyanarayana Pooja is performed at the temple premises by the devotees, after which they are given prasadam by the temple authorities.
LIFE MEMBERSHIP SCHEME
The mutt has a Life Membership scheme, where a person can donate a sum of Rs. 1,000/- to become a lifetime member. As part of the membership, both the individual and their spouse are entitled to perform Archana once a year on any chosen day (e.g., their birthday, wedding anniversary, etc.).
In addition to the yearly Aradhana function, the mutt also celebrates the Aradhanas of Sri Padarajar (an incarnation of Bhakta Dhruva), Sri Vyasaraja (an incarnation of Bhakta Prahalada and our Guru Raghavendra Swamy), and Sri Madhwa (an incarnation of Wind God Vayu and Hanuman). Free food is humbly offered to all the devotees who attend these Aradhanas. Before offering food to the devotees, pooja is performed for Guru Raghavendra Swamy, and the names of Lord Rama and Hanuman are chanted with devotion. After participating in these Aradhanas, devotees experience peace of mind, mental and physical relaxation, and a sense of fresh energy.
On the first floor of the mutt, there is a separate shrine for Lord Perumal, along with several shrines dedicated to the Dasavatharas (ten incarnations of Vishnu), as well as a shrine for Lord Hanuman.
Every Thursday, free prasadam is offered to all devotees, including sakkarai pongal, venpongal, and sambar rice. If devotees wish to sponsor the prasadam, they can contribute Rs. 600/-.
Many devotees have experienced miracles in their lives at this mutt. Personally, I have been safeguarded from illness, accidents, and other misfortunes. People from Chennai are encouraged to visit the mutt at least once in their lifetime to receive the divine blessings of Guru Raghavendra Swamy. This mutt is located near BB Road. Devotees can get down at the BB Road bus stop and easily reach the mutt. The temple is open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
