There is a famous temple in this town by the same name, and it is believed that it was the place where the sage Agastya worshipped Lord Shiva. The temple is also recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India and features beautiful carvings of famous Hindu idols on its walls.

The Omkareshwar Temple is particularly famous, as all the rituals of Kedarnath are performed here during the winter.
From July to September, Uttarakhand receives heavy rainfall, which makes it less ideal to visit during that period. Apart from these months, the place is good to explore throughout the year. To beat the summer heat, you can visit and explore this town between March and June, as the temperature here ranges from 25°C to 32°C.
If you want to experience the town covered in snowfall, winter is also a great time to visit. However, make sure to carry heavy woolen clothing to stay warm.

If you prefer driving yourself or taking a bus, Augustmuni is well-connected by motorable roads. However, there is no direct bus to Augustmuni. First, you need to reach Rishikesh, and from there, you can catch a direct bus to this place.
