Vale of Flowers to Adorn Chardham Route

chardham yatra valley of flowers

The state and central ministry of road and transport has revised their planning with the intention of making the Chardham route not only danger-free but also beautiful. Initially the plan was to plant trees on either side of the state highway but now they have planned to grow flowers as well on either side. Flower shrubs will be planted based on the type and quality of soil available on the sides of the state highway and for this purpose conventions are being held with the Indian resources and water conservation organizations.

As per the planning for the Chardham state highway an approximate budget of 12000 crore has been decided for this plantation program on either side of the highway. To decide what all plants can planted along the Chardham highway, those responsible for the execution of this planning has asked for a list of grow-able plant names from the Forest research institute or FRI.

For this purpose conventions were being held with the FRI too. But with the alteration of planning on the part of the road transport and state highway ministry instead of trees, floral bushes will be planted on either side of the state highway and for this, in place of FRI conventions are now being held with the Indian resources and water conservation organizations.

The Indian resources and water conservation organization will examine the soil types plus conditions pertaining to the availability of water in the Chardham route and then suggest what all species of floral plants can be planted here. The floral plantation work is likely to run simultaneously with the construction work of the state highway. Two rounds of meeting has already taken place between the chiefs of the organization and chiefs of the state highway construction domain on the matter MOU.

Initially it was a plan to plant trees along the state highway but now beautiful, mind-rejuvenating flowers are likely to be planted therein. On this matter an MOU is likely to be signed with Indian resources and water conservation organization.
