The Earth Quake that shook Nepal for the second time, also showed its impact on Uttarakhand. But in the chardhams-Badri–Kedar–Gangotri–Yamunotri no signs of Earth Quake were felt. In the Garhwal circuit no significant impact of the earth quake was seen or felt. Only in the districts of Dehradun and Haridwar, impacts of the earth quake were seen whereas in the entire Kumaon light tremors of Earth quake could be felt. During that time the terror-struck public came out of their homes and offices and was out on the streets for a long span of time.
On Tuesday Uttarakhand state capital Dehradun plus many hilly and meadowlands of the region shook up under the impact of the earthquake. According to the weather department at about 12.40pm, the motions of the earthquake were felt. Nepal was reported as the origin of this earthquake. Last month on the 2nd of April, earthquake was felt in Chamoli and its intensity was about 5.1 on Richter scale. At that time cracks and crevasses developed on more than 500 houses and 2 people were killed.
It is a noteworthy fact that the Uttarkashi earthquake of 1991 and Chamoli earthquake of 1999 killed more than hundreds of people.
