The Uttarakhand Tourism Department has allocated a huge budget of 1.25 crores for the preparation of Char Dham Yatra 2015. The budget will be utilized for providing sanitation, hygiene and convenience facilities for tourist and improving the existing services. The Cha Dham Yatra 2015 starts from 2oth April and the authorities have stated enhancing their efforts for preparing themselves for Uttarkhand’s most important tourist earning season. The cleanliness of the roads leading to Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath has always been an important issue as complaints have been raised in the past. This year the responsibility of maintaining and cleaning the roads fell on the Nagar Panchayats and Nagar Palikas which govern the roads. However, shortage of cleaning personnel working for the Panchayats and Palikas has been creating problems. In the light of these problems Tourism department, Commissioner Garhwali has been given the responsibility of allocating the budget.
This year the budget of 25 Lakhs has been allocated for cleaning and reconstruction activities by the Tourism department last Wednesday. The head of Chardham Yatra Regulatory Association M. Y.S Gangadhar has stated that the amount of 25 Lakhs will soon be allocated to the Nagar Palikas and Nagar Panchayats for the cleaning, reconstruction and Facilitation activities in preparation of Char Dham 2015 season. Recruitment of fresh staff for cleaning and facilitation activities will happen soon. The Government of Uttarakhand looks all set to usher in the 2015 Char Dham Yatra season in a vastly improved way.
