Uttarakhand embraces technology in a big way as the C.M Harish Rawat reviewed all the preparations on the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. All officials who were appointed for supervising and managing Char Dham yatra gathered together by Video Conferencing through which Mr. Harish Rawat instructed them to make streamlined errorless arrangements for providing appropriate lodging, boarding and biometric amenities for tourists and pilgrims. The Biometrics initiative is one of the key actions taken by the state government for managing Char Dham Yatra better.
CM Rawat gives direction to district magistrates regarding the Char Dham Yatra –
Officials have been instructed to target to round up at least 50% of tourist population for Yatra and arrange washrooms, food and water for them near all the principal shrines on the route. Local empowerment is urged as the C.M has instructed officials to use the Char Dham Yatra work flow as a method of providing employment and earning opportunity to local population. All attempts and initiatives towards these objectives should end by the beginning of Yatra to Kedarnath.
Mr. Harish Rawat said that the district magistrate of Rudraprayag had already informed him that 4 biometric stations have already been set up for the tourists in the district and quality accommodation has been arranged for all tourists and pilgrims at Sitapur. Accommodation arrangements for more than 4000 tourists have been arranged at spots like Lencholi (both small and Big), Bhimbali, Gaurikund, JungleChatti and Kedarnath Base Camp. Attempts are also being made to make stay arrangements at Pulna, Govindghat and Pandukeshwar. The whole Kedarnath route has been labeled a plastic free zone and good quality pure vegetarian food is made available at affordable rate.
The Magistrate of Chamoli has confirmed that stay arrangements for 8000 tourists have been confirmed and 400 new Shauchalayas have been constructed for the convenience of the pilgrims. The Uttarkashi District Magistrate has also confirmed that stay arrangements of 12000 pilgrims have been arranged on Gangotri and Yamunotri route.
Mr. Ganesh Godiyal (President of Kedarnath Badrinath Temple committee) and Shailarani Rawat (parliamentary secretary) were also present in the video conferring session arranged by C.M Harish Rawat.
