Mukhba is Glorified by the Arrival of Ganga Mata in Winters

With the launch of the winter Char Dham Yatra, the UP Government seeks to serve a dual purpose. On one hand the tourists and devotees who can travel only during this time attain spiritual peace and a Darshan of the divine and on the other hand the economy of the state is also boosted as local traders benefit from the tourist flow… the Zila has religious Mathas and Mandir besides beautiful lakes and scenic beauty. The winter Char Dham journey has been started by the Rajya Sarkar during the last 2 years. The first step of Gangotri winter Yatra begins at Mukhba where Mata Ganga has already arrived for her winter sojourn. If this endeavour of the government succeeds then the religious entity of the state will be boosted and tourism will be enhanced. There are many significant features of Mukhba like a rich historical and spiritual lineage apart from temples and lakes.

The people living in plains usually reel under heavy fogs and smog in winter but a visit to Mukhba will rejuvenate the senses with its scenic beauty, cheerful sunshine and pristine blue skies. The Zila Mukhba is flanked by the snow-covered mountains and has many dazzling blue lakes.

Gangnani

This is believed to be the meeting point of Ganga and Yamuna. It is believed that the holy saint Jamadagni from Than Village had meditated near this Kund. Per mythology the prayer of the Rishi was heard and Ganga Maa sprouted from this place. During the winter trip to Gangotri one can visit this place.

Dayara Bugyal

Velvety green grass and delicate snowflakes cover Bugyal during the winter months between December to March. One can reach here via Raithal and Barsu when travelling by Gangotri highway. One must travel by vehicle for 7 km and then 5 km by foot to reach the winter Chardham Dham of Mukhba.

Nachiketa Taal

The Nachiketa Taal stands on the borders of Uttarkashi and Tehri and is surrounded by luscious forests of Banj and Burans. Devotees who embark on the winter Kedarnath Yatra can travel to Nachiketa taal from Chaurangi Khal (after Darshan at Gangotri and Yamunotri). a light walk of 2 k from Chaurangi Khal will take you to this beautiful lake.

Doditaal

The Taal of Dodital remains mostly snow covered in winters and is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. To reach this place one must travel 14 km by vehicle from Uttarkashi Headquarter to Sangamchatti and then 21 km by foot onwards.

Garam Kund

To reach this hot water spring the pilgrims to Yamunotri must walk half a km from Jangalchatti and then reach the village of Banas.

The Land of Temples

In winters the devotees and travelers will be able to view Ganga Yamuna temple at Kharsali and Mukhba and the famous temples of Uttarkashi. The well-known Vishwanath temples, Shakti Mandir, Parshuram temple, Kandar Devta temple, Narmadeshwar temple, Kuteti Devi and other beautiful attractions can be viewed during winter char Dham Yatra.
